Dump Zip, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Dump Zip mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.
Note to Users: Dump Zip is a business-to-business logistical tool. By using the App, you acknowledge that certain data (such as truck location and company contact info) must be shared with other users to facilitate bookings.
1. Information Collection and Use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to you.
Personal Data
While using our App, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:
Email address
First name and last name
Phone number
Company Name and US DOT Number
Business Address, City, State, ZIP code
2. Location Data (Precise Geolocation)
To facilitate the matching of trucks to job sites, we collect and process Precise Location Data via Geopoints and Geohashes.
Truck Owners: Your truck's location is used to allow Contractors to find you based on proximity.
Contractors: Job site locations are shared with Truck Owners to facilitate routing and bidding.
Background Location: We may use location services even when the app is in the background to provide accurate arrival estimates for active bookings. You can enable or disable location services at any time through your device settings.
3. Communication Data (Chat & Messaging)
We collect and store the content of messages sent through our "Booking Messages" feature. These logs are maintained to provide a record of job-specific instructions and to assist in dispute resolution between users. We also collect "Read Status" to inform participants when a message has been viewed.
4. Data Retention & Safety Logs
We maintain automated Function Logs to prevent platform abuse and rate-limiting. These logs are automatically deleted after 24 hours via a Time-To-Live (TTL) policy. General account data is retained as long as your account is active.
5. Sharing of Data
We do not sell your data to third-party advertisers. Your data is shared only in the following contexts:
With Other Users: To fulfill a booking, your contact info, company name, and location are shared with the counter-party of the transaction.
Service Providers: We use Firebase (a Google service) for data storage and authentication.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
6. Account Deletion & User Rights
We respect your right to privacy and your control over your data. You have the right to:
Access or Update: You can update your profile information directly within the App settings.
Delete Your Account: You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. To do so, please use the "Delete Account" feature in the App settings or contact us at hello@dumpzip.com. Upon deletion, your personal identifiers will be removed from our database, subject to any legally mandated record-keeping requirements.
7. Security of Data
The security of your data is important to us. We use industry-standard encryption and security protocols provided by Google Cloud/Firebase to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
